The plastic surgeon stated precisely: if you have these elements, you are a beauty.

The founder of the aesthetic surgery clinic „GP klinika,“ Gintaras Papečkys, shares in a press release-interview that he is most fascinated by the opportunity to help women have beautiful faces. The experienced plastic surgeon reveals in the interview what women most often request in his office and what he thinks about the extremely popular filler procedures, as well as shares tips on how to maintain youthful charm.

You have been working in the field of plastic surgery for several decades. What issues are women facing today when they open the doors of your clinic?

– I want to help women understand why beautiful faces are beautiful and what changes are needed for a face to be aesthetically balanced. Most often, patients come to me regarding facial aesthetics. I do not like to fulfill requests; I gladly advise whether it is really necessary to improve something. If I disagree with a patient, I do not perform the surgery. Through long practice, I have realized that the main elements of a beautiful face are very similar. My specialization is facial surgeries, so it is natural that those who want to get rid of certain complexes and enhance their facial features most often turn to me.

Lithuanian women typically have long noses that tend to droop and enlarge over the years. If the nose is unattractive, no other surgery will help. First, the shape of the nose needs to be improved, and then other interventions can follow. I model the patient's face using a special innovative program, showing how it can look after surgeries.

In the world, many women with higher incomes use the services of plastic surgeons. Lithuanian women are still afraid and hesitantly open the doors of doctors. Bad examples are the most frightening and deter them from their dreams.

Various injectable filler procedures are experiencing their golden age. Many women turn to specialists to enhance their cheekbones and jawline. How do you evaluate these procedures?

– Fillers have both pros and cons, which are visible to the naked eye when looking at those who lack moderation. Hyaluronic acid fillers attract moisture, and women who overuse them appear puffy and swollen. Fillers beautifully enhance the cheeks or jawline, reduce some wrinkles, but one must feel the limits.

The facial contour can also be restored with calcium hydroxyapatite filler procedures. After this filler, there is no swelling; it is excellent for enhancing the jawline, but the product must be in the hands of a good specialist, as it does not dissolve and leaves fibrous tissue.

The best results are achieved by rejuvenating the face with fat, but this can only be done in the operating room. I have experience where, 20-30 years after this aesthetic procedure, patients look much better than those who did not have this procedure. There are many myths surrounding this procedure, but it is usually discussed by those who do not perform it.

Let's talk about women who do not yet need serious surgeries due to age but want to see a youthful reflection in the mirror. What procedures do you recommend?

– A woman under 40 is in her prime, her changes are minimal, so only certain facial corrections are needed. I emphasize to my patients – the shape of the nose and lips are very important for beauty. The skin of women at this age is still good, but some changes are already visible. If there is no need to correct congenital features, small interventions are very effective.

The face is balanced by lip lifting. Currently, this is a very popular minimally invasive procedure, guaranteeing a much more elegant and beautiful result than hyaluronic acid fillers injected into elongated lips. After this procedure, the upper lip rises, more of the red lip area appears, the gap between the nose and lips decreases, and the profile becomes more beautiful. Often, lip fillers are used to correct overly long lips, creating the „duck lips“ effect, where the upper lip becomes larger than the lower one. The operation looks maximally natural, and if a more pronounced look is desired, the lip can confidently be highlighted with hyaluronic injections.

At this age, the facial frame, cheekbones, and proper oval are relevant. The upper part of the cheek should be elevated, then a dip, and again an elevation. It is beautiful for those who naturally have such a „wave,“ but it can be slightly enhanced with the surgeon's intervention. By removing the fat from the middle part of the cheeks („bichat“), the face becomes slimmer, and the shape of the lower jaw becomes more refined. For some, the change is obvious, while for others, it is subtle. These fats cannot be eliminated through exercise or diets; the only solution is surgical removal.

For the aesthetic balance of the face, the shape of the chin and subchin is very important. Often, due to excess fat or an underdeveloped chin, the subchin sags, losing its beautiful aesthetic line. This can be effectively corrected with a minimally invasive procedure involving liposuction and surgical sutures, while the lower jaw can be shaped with fat grafting or fillers. The operation is performed with light sedation.

I recommend an annual PRP procedure – skin rejuvenation with blood plasma. Just always ask how much blood will be taken and how much material you will receive. Don't be tempted by an extremely low PRP price. The higher the concentration of platelets, the better the result will be. To achieve it, three procedures will not be necessary; one will suffice.

What are the current trends and fashions in plastic surgery?

– The shape of a beautiful, balanced face does not change over the ages. Even when looking at sculptures from ancient Rome or Greek culture, the features of a beautiful face are the same; only the hairstyle and style differ. As I say, „A God-given person is beautiful to everyone.“ Later, changes due to age may slightly alter those shapes, but a beautiful person, if they take care of themselves at all, remains beautiful into old age. Currently, in the field of plastic surgery, it is very fashionable to avoid the „operated face“ look. Therefore, minimally invasive procedures are becoming very popular. This is a surgical intervention without large cuts and trauma.

Currently, few extensive plastic surgeries are performed on women under 60. They have been replaced by mini-invasive procedures – surgical interventions without large cuts and trauma. My goal as a specialist is to disrupt the facial anatomy and body integrity as little as possible. When that is violated, an artificial result is obtained.

An example is Hollywood. I keep repeating to everyone how beautiful the people there are. The style of celebrities differs, but the facial features meet the beauty standard. There are no raised eyebrows, lips are short, and noses are elegant. Great attention is paid to the facial oval: a beautiful chin, subchin, jawline, and cheek indentations. Everything is very simple – if you have these elements, you are beautiful. The greatest art is to create natural beauty, and the face should not look operated on. Achieving such a result is very difficult, which shows the level of professionalism of plastic surgeons.

Deciding is greatly aided by facial modeling, where new facial features are formed in 3D format. Then, it is possible to compare the „before“ and „after“ results and make a decision. I emphasize that the decision is made by you, dear women, not the operating surgeon.

In any case, any plastic surgery is an intervention into a person's body, and it is difficult to predict the results and the body's reaction. Health experts recommend exercising, eating healthily, and loving your body, choosing plastic surgeries only as a last resort.
