Laryngeal surgery

The chin is a particularly visible area of the face that greatly influences the aesthetics of the lower part. If you were to ask women, many would say they are unhappy with their chins. However, each would name different reasons. Some dislike their chin due to excess fat accumulation. In such cases, an additional „appendage“ to the chin is visible, especially noticeable when looking at a person from the side. Another problem related to the chin area is excess skin. In this case, there may not be any fat deposits in the chin. Such excess skin occurs for various reasons. It can be a factor influenced by the aging process, and it is also characteristic of people of all ages who, due to significant weight loss, the skin is no longer able to contract and simply hangs.

Neck lift surgery is often combined with facelift surgeries or procedures.

Operation

The thighplasty procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia. During the procedure, excess fat is suctioned out and, if necessary, any excess, sagging skin is removed.

After surgery

After the medication wears off, you may experience mild pain, swelling, and numbness, with some bruising. Post-surgery, once the swelling subsides, your double chin will appear more sculpted as excess skin and fat will be removed. The profile view, which you'll immediately notice in photos, will undergo a particularly significant transformation.

Dr. G. Papečkys's commentary

The submental region is the area bordered superiorly by the chin and the inferior edge of the mandible, and inferiorly by the neck. The aesthetic appearance of this region is determined by the following criteria:
1. Beautiful, defined chin and jawline.
A nearly horizontal jawline that gently curves 105–120 degrees into the neck.
This is a sign of youth, so this area is very important when correcting age-related facial changes. Over the years, a fatty layer accumulates in it, the edges of the muscles relax, and the submandibular gland sags. All these changes are corrected surgically, but if problems become apparent at a younger age due to obesity and congenital underdevelopment of the chin, they can currently be corrected with minimally invasive procedures such as lifting threads, liposuction, and chin correction with tissue fillers.
So, the chin is one of the most important areas of facial aesthetics, and its correction is highly individualized, chosen each time after a doctor's consultation.
