Menopause forced a Lithuanian woman to consult a plastic surgeon: „I could no longer live like this.“

„I rejuvenated by a decade! I realized that beauty has magical power. It feels great to feel like a complete woman again and receive a lot of pleasant attention,“ says Daiva, who wants to encourage other women plagued by complexes not to be afraid to consult plastic surgeons.

One of them is Daiva Biretienė, who lives in Ireland and whose onset of menopause brought about several complexes. Having dared to open the clinic's doors, today the woman is blooming.

The interviewee calculated that the operation would cost much less in Lithuania than in Ireland. She did not want to have surgery even cheaper in Turkey due to possible complications and difficulties communicating with the clinic. „The biggest criterion was that in a complicated situation, I would quickly find help. Plastic surgery is not a simple matter. After the operation, various psychological and physical difficulties await, anxiety, possible panic attacks, or complications. If I needed to contact the clinic that operated in Turkey, it is unclear whether the same surgeon would respond... The recovery path is definitely not easy,“ the woman preparing for surgery candidly shared.
The 52-year-old woman has always taken care of herself, trying various aesthetic medical procedures. The complex operation performed in Ireland did not go without negative consequences. The unexpectedly onset menopause caused sudden and drastic changes in her face and body, along with feelings of being an unhappy, unattractive woman.

Daiva stated that she has great confidence in Lithuanian doctors, so she did not hesitate about which country to have the operation in. It was very important for her to communicate in her own language and that Lithuanians better understand the desires of their compatriots.

D. Biretienė is convinced that the world should talk more about the effects of menopause: bone and joint pain, weight gain, or mood swings. According to the interviewee, with this stage of life comes insecurity and sadness, and single women with appearance complexes stop living fully. „I have always been active, but over two years I withdrew into my shell. Sadness and a constant feeling of insecurity became my everyday life; I did not look beautiful. You won't believe what menopause did to me... I couldn't come to terms with it – I had exercised all my life and looked great. My face and body suffered a catastrophe; I turned into an unrecognizable person. It was nightmarishly difficult... Not breaking down psychologically and daring to change was helped by working on myself and psychological literature. I am a positive person, but I could no longer live like this,“ the interviewee spoke openly.

The woman decided to consult aesthetic and body aesthetics surgeon Gintaras Papeckis after seeing an acquaintance who had undergone similar procedures by the doctor. Daiva was amazed at how the long-unseen woman had become beautiful and, after hearing positive reviews, approached the doctor. „The doctor said he wouldn't bring back my youth or take away the years, but he promised to make me beautiful. The surgeon kept his promise. What he did is wonderful,“ the interviewee spoke emotionally. At Dr. G. Papeckis's aesthetic surgery clinic, the woman underwent a mini-invasive procedure with surgical threads, upper lip lift, rhinoplasty, and liposuction in the chin and neck area, with the fat being transplanted to her face.

„The emigrant recounts that the most challenging stage awaited after the operation – panic and stress visited her. Before and after the operation, D. Biretienė consulted with a psychologist working at the clinic. The interviewee is convinced that most women after surgeries are particularly observant, watching every millimeter. She is no exception – she constantly asked if everything would heal well and how her face would look. “Recovery doesn't take one day or three weeks. It requires patience... Of course, I also experienced pain and a feeling of tightness, especially where the threads were inserted. I saw encouraging changes after three months, and the final result after six months. During recovery, I was accompanied by the fear of whether everything would really be okay,„ D. Biretienė shared about the post-operative period. After the changes in appearance, the woman regained her self-confidence. The interviewee is happy that her life has finally become complete, and the constant compliments warm her heart.
"I rejuvenated by a decade, received many compliments and praises for my excellent skin condition and beautiful, youthful face, and good mood and smiles became my everyday life; I felt great. Although several interventions were performed, the changes look very natural. The lovely little wrinkles were left, 100% of the injected fat did not take, but the effect is excellent – it gave my face a sense of youthfulness and freshness. The most striking changes were contributed by the nose operation – rhinoplasty. I had a slightly bulbous nose, which became much prettier after the doctor's corrections. I am very pleased that the double chin, which spoiled the appearance, is gone. Today I am very happy, and the positive changes are noticed by the people around me," D. Biretienė rejoiced. Comment from plastic surgeon and founder of "GP clinic" Gintaras Papeckis: Patient D. Biretienė had changed significantly due to menopause. During the invasive procedure, excess fat was suctioned and injected where it was lacking. Surgical threads were also inserted, which lifted the superficial layer of the face. Injecting fat improved skin quality. The upper lip lift gave balance to the face, and the slightly lifted nose added youthfulness.

A very good investment is fat transfer to the face. It helps maintain the skin's youthfulness and beauty well into old age. I would also recommend having a PRP procedure once a year. I do not suggest any surgeries for women up to 50-60 years old. They do not provide anything special, but on the contrary – they introduce artificiality. Of course, skin care, moderation, and caution are very important. I would like to highlight surgical threads, which in the case of patient D. Biretienė significantly contributed to the changes in appearance. Surgical threads used for lifting the face are not an alternative to surgery. This procedure is a good option for patients aged 40-60. Previously, the only option to achieve results was surgery, but now there are other ways. As many imagine, threads do not mechanically lift the face. Surgical threads trigger a scarring process under the skin. The skin beautifully contracts, and the superficial layer that has sagged naturally rises. The downside of the procedure is that it takes time and patience to see the result.
