Nijolė Navickienė, ready for radical changes: „Now I will live for myself.“

The burned and restored home, 11 foster children, and an active lifestyle did not prevent Nijolė Navickienė from making radical changes in her appearance and mindset. By starting to focus on her inner self and health, the woman lost 70 kg: „Today I live for change. Now I am a queen.“

We often hear in society that people do not love, value, and invest enough in themselves. What do you think about that?

It may sound bold, but I want to broadcast a message to women who have dedicated their entire lives to men, children, relatives, neighbors, work, household, and God knows what else. Dear women, buy fewer cars and apartments for your children, stand less by the pots, and better live for yourselves! Don’t spare money for yourself, enjoy life. Lithuanian women give everything to others, and I was like that too, but one day I told myself: „Enough. I want to live for myself.“

How do you understand living for yourself?

First of all, I started to focus on my inner self and health. I lost 70 kg because I could no longer look at my sagging skin; everything was just starting to fall apart. Don’t think I’m exaggerating; I truly felt that way.

First, I reduced my stomach, and then, when I started to feel lighter and better inside, I decided to consult plastic surgeon Gintaras Papeckis. I had eyelid lifting, neck, nose, and abdominal plastic surgery.

And today I live for change. Now I am a queen. I pamper myself with massages, quality food, and do not burden myself with others' work. I live life!

What factors influenced your choice of plastic surgeon?

My daughter visited plastic surgeon Gintaras Papeckis, and I trust her choices 100 percent.

It is believed that after raising children, a person's life somehow stops, but in your case – it just began.

Everything depends on personal perspective. Living for myself is something I learned and am still learning from a psychologist. I was a village woman and did not know the concept of „self-love.“.

How did your family react to your desire to change?

A tragedy! Everyone just doesn’t understand how that mother started to take care of herself, walks like a queen, and says: „Now I will live for myself.“

Of course, the diagnosis is clear; it’s understandable that mom has gone crazy.

It’s strange to hear such reactions since you have been engaged in meaningful social projects for quite a long time: you raise and care for children from orphanages, you restored burned houses. You are probably an example for many of us…

I gave everything I could in life, and now it’s time for myself. Know that let the world collapse, let there be a war, and I will still live for myself. You might say it’s selfish? I scattered all my pearls to others and don’t get me wrong, I don’t regret it, but it’s time to pay attention to myself.

Let’s talk about beauty. What does a beautiful woman mean to you?

A smart and self-loving woman. If a woman has not a drop of sense, then it’s unlikely that anything good will come of it… Appearance adds self-confidence, but even a not very attractive woman can be beautiful if she takes care of herself wisely. So, intelligence comes first.

What do you think are the biggest fears and myths about cosmetic surgery among older women?

I wouldn’t say they are afraid… Women just feel sorry for spending money on themselves. Every cent I spend on myself is an investment in my inner peace, confidence, and productivity. I think more stereotypes are associated not with cosmetic surgery but with life after the age of sixty. You see, at that age, one is expected to sit by the stove, pray the rosary, and receive a „grandma’s“ pension. I can still work fully and serve Lithuania.

Which plastic surgery would you name as your internal transformation?

I couldn't single one out, as the overall picture becomes great thanks to the combined procedures. I lost a lot of weight, so my whole body, including my facial skin, was sagging, so I couldn't highlight just one surgery. Each of them complemented the others.

You are an active woman, so how did you manage to balance an active lifestyle and the postoperative period?

I wisely planned my time and tasks, and I had help. Moreover, I could do certain tasks, and I actually enjoyed the breaks between them because I could rest.

Most people focus more on the surgery itself, but often the more challenging phase becomes the postoperative time. What helped you get through this stage?

Good mood and, most importantly, self-confidence helped me. To be determined, stubborn, and not to get nervous is the hardest part, so I am very happy not only with the results but also with myself.

Indeed, we see that you not only look great but also feel that way. So do you believe that beauty is a choice for each of us?

I really try to help myself, I take various supplements, vitamins, I do tests, and I take care of my psychological state. When going for plastic surgeries, it's important to understand that the results depend not only on the plastic surgeon – you will need to put in effort yourself as well.
