What are facial fillers and why are they beneficial in facial aesthetics?

A filler, also known as a liquid implant or hyaluronic acid, adds volume to the face, causing an aesthetic and slight swelling if allowed on the skin surface. If they are allowed into deeper tissues or on the bone, they can change the shape of the face, depending on the density of the filler. Fillers designed to correct facial contours lift the jawline and cheeks. There are various types of fillers, and if the specialist uses them correctly, truly impressive results can be achieved. Currently, this is a particularly popular and strong tool in facial aesthetics.

When are liquid implants most effective?

They are quite easily accessible, and the procedure is easy to perform. Fillers are especially effective when correcting the first signs of aging, which is from 30 to 45 years of age. In later years, the effectiveness of fillers decreases, and achieving strong results becomes more difficult. They are also safe to use at a younger age to correct unacceptable imperfections for clients.

What is the cost of these procedures?

To achieve an effective result, sometimes four or five ampoules are needed, so the cost is quite high. However, this is one of those cases where the price and result ratio aligns. As a beauty surgeon with long-term experience, I can say that if you have the opportunity to invest, it is worth it, as the final result is very natural and impressive.

At what age would you recommend this procedure to women?

This procedure is designed to reduce the first age-related changes and correct certain congenital defects, such as: the nose, highlight the cheekbones, jawline, and provide a „contouring“ effect.

You mentioned that the procedure is very simple. When is the result noticeable and when can one return to a normal life rhythm?

The result is noticeable already during the procedure, after making changes on one side of the face. One can return to a normal life rhythm immediately, but there remains a possibility of bruising, which is a completely normal phenomenon after the procedure. When performing facial oval correction with fillers, they are injected very deeply into the tissues, so the risk of bleeding is low.

We know that you have been interested in fillers and have been working with them for quite a long time. If it's not a secret, how many years have you been working with this procedure?

I have been working with fillers for about 30 years. Throughout all these years, I have tried various fillers. Previously, permanent fillers that did not dissolve were popular, but they also had side effects, although I have not encountered that. Nowadays, hyaluronic acid is popular, which, depending on its concentration, can correct the condition of the skin, causes slight swelling, and smooths out the first wrinkles. However, as a plastic surgeon, I am more interested in heavy fillers, which allow for the correction of the facial oval shape.

We have seen unsuccessful cases with fillers. What could have influenced the poor result?

The poor result is mostly influenced by the chosen incorrect amount of filler. However, in this case, I am talking about heavy fillers, which are injected in very small amounts deep into the tissues. It is difficult to achieve an undesirable result with these fillers. In any case, it is important to choose a good specialist, consult, and communicate with them.

Were filler procedures as popular in the past as they are these days?

The demand for liquid implants is significantly higher now, as the range of these products has increased based on different concentrations of hyaluronic acid. However, it is important to emphasize that this procedure does not compete with aesthetic surgery, but rather complements it.
