In our days, anyone who is not satisfied with the shape of their nose can consult plastic surgeons. Nose correction – is probably the most popular plastic surgery in the world. It is important to choose a plastic surgeon who will enhance your nose without harming your appearance and taking away your individuality. Modern nose correction methods allow for the creation of virtually any shape of nose. The nose can be reduced, its shape can be changed, the angle between the nose and the upper lip can be adjusted, nostrils can be narrowed, the nasal septum can be straightened, and the nose can be restored.
The surgery often solves not only aesthetic but also physiological problems, as the nasal septum is straightened, making it easier to breathe. Nose correction can be performed at any time of the year, but in summer, it is advisable to avoid the sun for a month and a half, which can cause pigmentation, and temperatures below -15 degrees Celsius, which can harm the operated nose. It is also not advisable to perform the surgery on younger individuals, as it may complicate normal nose development and the surgery may need to be repeated in the future. The cost of plastic nose surgery is not low, but it is one of those areas where quality matches the price. The cost of plastic nose surgery depends on the complexity of the surgery, quality equipment, and the theoretical and practical preparation of the assisting team.
All surgeries require certain temporary lifestyle restrictions and nose job this is no exception. Before the surgery, it is not advisable to smoke, take aspirin, and other medications that suppress blood clotting, as this may cause bleeding during the operation. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The methodology depends on the tasks set. Most often, a “W” shaped incision is made in the nasal septum and two curved incisions on the inner surface of the nostrils. During the operation, the cartilaginous part of the nasal septum is corrected, as well as the bony nose; if necessary, correction of the bony nasal septum is also performed. Finally, the incisions are sutured, and a special splint and bandages are applied to support the desired shape of the nose while the bones heal.
Like any intervention, nose or nose hump correction can have unwanted effects. These include reactions to anesthesia, postoperative pain, eye irritation, tightness, prolonged bleeding, wound edge separation, wound infection, and scar hypertrophy. Other possible complications or unwanted reactions should be discussed with the plastic surgeon during the consultation. Due to individual body characteristics, each patient's reaction to anesthetic agents, surgical trauma, and healing process is unique, making it difficult to predict specific complications accurately.
Typically, healing takes several weeks or months, but the splint is removed after a week, less often after a few weeks. The bruising and swelling that inevitably occur after surgery last for several weeks, and it happens that during this time the tissues become numb, the nose may be congested, and painful in the first few days. After one or two weeks, the nose takes on a healthy, attractive appearance.
The usual level of social activity returns depending on the complexity of the surgery and individual characteristics. In the first few days, it is advisable to use cold compresses, and if necessary, pain relievers and sedatives may be prescribed. For two weeks after surgery, it is recommended to sleep with the head elevated above heart level, which will help fluids circulate more easily and reduce swelling. Most patients can return to their normal routine after five days, but for several months, some patients should avoid overly active sports, smoking, and spicy or salty foods. For a while, it is not advisable to wear glasses with heavy frames. Nose trauma during physical activity should be avoided for at least 6 months.
The final aesthetic result is visible only after healing is complete, but changes in shape are noticeable almost immediately after surgery. The effect of the surgery is long-lasting. The process of shaping and correcting the nose after plastic surgery takes about six months, sometimes up to a year. Therefore, the final result should be evaluated after this period.
